The bane of all evil.
I accidently posted this in Sardelac three weeks ago and sent various Personal messages to moderators to have it moved.... yet to no avail. So here it is once again. I know it is more of a suggestion but I truly intended it to be a discussion.
Quote:
Their are numerous problems regarding our community but their is a problem that prevents us from stopping those problems.
Now if you understood that sentence then do read on. I'm pretty sure this topic has been brought up but I believe now is a VERY good time to bring this up again. The main problem is a long and very annoying process of reporting people. Arena-Net we understand that tackling leechers and spammers isn't easy and we do want to help you guys but at the least, PLEASE make it easier for us to report people.
Now i understand the Ncsoft support page is there for only people that truly wish to help and helps avoid false reports and such but seriously, its annoying. Why? Because first of all, we have to alt tab out of the game, open up a browser, get to the site and then begin filling out a damned big report. Then their are numerous problems with the website itself.
1. Half the times the reports wont go through and the website will return an error. This SERIOUSLY annoys many people including myself as usually the report is erased causing me to rewrite the entire thing. Writing the report is already a major time hog; causing me to write it many times is just a waste of my time and seriously turns me away from writing one.
2. The website requires me to create an account. True that this is a legitimate requirement and such i have created an account. However they do not ask you to log in BEFORE you right the report. This may not sound bad at first but read on. After you write the report, you have to log in. However once you log in, you are returned to the original report page and the report will suddenly go *poof* causing me to Re-write the whole thing AGAIN.
We are using our own time to report people. At the very least make it easy for us and create an in game reporting system that by passes the NCsoft website. I have found that linking through Ncsoft can be very problematic. Dont get me started on the store...
I do respect your concerns of faux reports being sent via an ingame system but the need for it is much higher. A suspension of atleast one month should be issued to anybody stupid enough to even try sending a faux report should be enough to keep these people wary. Please Arena-Net take a good look at this and make reporting easier. It'll allow us as a community to work on reporting leechers, botters, scammers, spammers, saboteurs and etc.
- Just my two gp.

well to stop leeching, truely, seriously? um... dont reward people unless they actually played a role, dmg'd the enemy, and moved with the task force. basically play the fight and do the best you can. Quests are usually better for faction anyway right? So theres the answer thats been available since the beginning...
I'm too tired to talk about any of the other issues right now. sorry

I've never had a problem with the reporting system.
If you're talking about reporting a person for an EULA violation, all you need to do is give the time, place, and behavior: "Today at about 2:00 PM, EST, I saw Player X (I hope there's no one with that name ) doing ___bad thing___ in Someplace special, AD2. See attached SS for details Thank you for looking into this matter." (That isn't a very long report at all) They've got the logs to look at for details.
It's also very nice that when you go to browse for the SS, you go straight to the GW SS file.
And I don't take a time out from the game to do it. I take note of the details and wait until I'm done playing and then take care of the business.
In the early days, they had a /bug emote for reporting problems like glitches and stuff. I don't know why they did away with it, but I'm sure they got flooded with those things and had a heck of a time keeping up with it.

This has to be one of the most pretentious pair of sentences I've ever read. It's a simple sentence with only one typo, I'm sure most people will grasp it. Are you studying media? How does that make you feel?

I don't think reporting should be made too easy. If you want to waste your time playing video game police, then go ahead. My suggestion to you is this: Instead of trolling around looking for a rule breaker and then opening your web browser, just open the web browser and surf to the tattle-tale page before you launch GW. Problem solved. Now we don't need to look at forum posts whining about how hard it is to fire off 53 reports an hour for minor violations.

Wow you must be one happy person.
No I Do not look for violators. I do not walk around Pre searing, Great temple of Balthazar and Lions arch for rule breakers. Alot of the reports I send are usually during events such as wintersday and halloween. There are quite a few idiotic people that show up talking about doing stuff to dwayna and that sort. I'll let you interpret the word stuff.
And finally.. The title was supposed to be dramatic
